  1. Heat oven to 375°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. In medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking soda.
  2. In large bowl of electric mixer, beat nut butter until smooth, about 1 minute. Mix in sugars, then add egg, 2 tablespoons water and vanilla and mix until thick and glossy, 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Reduce speed to low, add flour mixture and mix until combined (if dough is crumbly, add 1 to 2 teaspoons water). Fold in nuts. Drop dough by 2-tablespoon portions, 2 inches apart, onto prepared sheets and bake until puffed and beginning to brown around edges, 10 to 11 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
